Charlie Boots welcomes Sally Haysom...

Charlie Boots welcomes Sally Haysom...
Bristol based illustrator, Sally Haysom, is now selling her jewellery and art work at 35 Broad St, Bath.
The illustrated jewellery is made using watercolour images which include birds, animals and people. Her work is unigue and the jewellery absolutely charming. I am very excited to see what else she will be bringing in over the next few weeks. Her prints are going onto lamp shades which is great. I never seem to find a nice unique shade that does not cost the earth. Sally is at 35 Broad St two days a week so if you are interested in meeting her then drop her a line. You can contact her (and see examples of her work ) at:

'Charlie Boots' has moved to 35 Broad st, Bath

'Charlie Boots' has moved to 35 Broad st, Bath

Charlie Boots now has a new shop at 35 Broad Street (four doors up from Kath Kidston and on the other side) and is once again using it to showcase the work of local artists and designers.

The shop is very supportive of those who share the same sentiment of ‘conscious design’. There are lots of upcycled and sustainable accessories, homewares, art, jewellery and clothing. The odd vintage item is also added into the mix.

Local designers who are exhibiting work at the new location on Broad Street include Sally Wilde who makes mirrors from broken vintage china. Also on display is the work of ‘Red Bird Makes’ who has a quirky and fun approach to sewing. Her giant bow brooches can transform any plain item in your wardrobe into a stylish must-have.

Charlie now makes jewellery using vintage findings and recycled materials. She finds potential in the unexpected to create something covetable and unique.

Ethical Fashion Consultant, Hannah Jane Taskis is representing ethical brands such as Elvis and Kresse who make bags and belts from fire hoses. There is also ‘Mamacha’ who make Alpaca knitwear; the proceeds of which help to empower women in impoverished parts of Peru.

35 Broad Street used to be ‘The Bath Book Exchange’, an integral part of Bath’s recent history having been there since the 1940’s. We hope to tread a similar path !

'Charlie Boots at 204 Gloucester Rd, Bristol'

Please note that 'Charlie Boots' has now moved to 35 broad street in Bath (runs parallel to Milsom street) and no longer operates from 204 Gloucester Rd. the following is past news:

Charlie Boots is now showcasing amongst other artists and designers at 204 Gloucester Road, Bristol where ‘It’s about being conscious’.

This means we favour a conscious attitude; be it awareness to the raw materials and production or a reinvention through recycling. We also actively recycle by representing what was once discarded.

Local designers include Katcha Bilek who makes bags from lorry inner tubes and  Joanna Rose who juxtaposes contrasting elements onto ceramics from vintage and contemporary transfers.

From further afield there is Kirsty kirkpatrick who makes jewellery using found furniture, recycled materials, broken jewellery, suitcases and scrap leather from the upholstery industries. She transforms waste into something covetable and unique.

We also have designers producing decoupage furniture and jewellery, organic crocheted accessories, bags from reclaimed leather, bags and homewares from 50's and 60's fabrics and a whole lot more.

If you feel you would like to contribute in some way then please email Charlie@charlieboots.com.

'Charlie Boots at 204' is open Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m untill 5.30p.m. we are next door to 'Fig' gallery and two doors down from Billy Jeans Vintage shop.
