Joanna Rose Tableware

... not with Joanna but definately with her work.

Joanna Rose creates the most beautiful art work on ceramics. She juxtaposes vintage and contemporaruy ceramic transfers onto plates, mugs, jugs, bowls, butter dishes and other tableware. Some of the transfers date as fas back as the 1930's.
In her own words she creates a 'conversation' between various 'characters' (flowers, butterflies, birds, leaves, abstract prints) and ' balance and symmetry in the overall design is important but the surprise of one or two elements out of place can add interest and humour'.
I only wish there was more at 204 Gloucester Rd. People round there have an insatiable appetite for it so it does not stick around for long!
