Terms & Conditions

When you place an order with Charlie Boots you agree to accept the following terms and conditions.

Charlie Boots reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any such changes will take effect when posted on the website and it is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions on each occasion you use this website and your continued use of the website shall signify your acceptance to be bound by the latest terms and conditions.

Order and Delivery
  1. When you place an order via the website we will send to you an order acknowledgement email detailing the products you have ordered. Please note that this email is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from Charlie Boots.
  2. When placing an order you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorised user of the credit or debit card used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods.
  3. Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and Charlie Boots will take place on despatch to you of the products ordered unless Charlie Boots notifies you that your order has not been accepted or you have cancelled it.
  4. Please ensure your delivery address and postcode are correct as if they are not this could incur further delivery charges.
  5. Charlie Boots aim to deliver goods of the highest quality. Every effort is made to display only items that are in stock. Occasionally we may be unable to meet our usual delivery times due to certain items being unavailable, in which case we will advise you immediately. If this does occur, you will be given the opportunity to order an alternative, to have the products sent as soon as they become available (if possible), or to cancel the order and receive a full refund. Please note this can take three to five working days.
  6. If any item is returned to us because you were not there to give a signature or you did not go to collect from the sorting office within the time limit specified by Royal Mail then you will incur the cost of re-delivering. Goods cannot be collected.
  7. We will contact you if there is an excessive delay with the despatch of your order. We aim to send out Charlie Boot's products on the working day after we receive an order, or sometimes on the day we receive the order; however this is not guaranteed. If you need your item to be posted immediately then please call/email and we will help if we can.
  8. On rare occasions parcels may go missing.  If for any reason you have not received your order within 14 days of ordering, please call us on +44 (0) 845 2725 219 so that we can carry out an investigation. Please bear in mind that if you are outside of the UK your order may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities. This may cause a delay in delivery.
Insurance:
  1. Charlie Boots insures each purchase during the time it is in transit until it is delivered to you. We require a signature for any goods delivered, at which point responsibility for your purchased goods passes to you. If you have a specified recipient or different delivery address, then you accept that evidence of a signature is evidence of delivery and fulfillment by Charlie Boots and transfer responsibility in the same way.
Import Duty:
  1. If your delivery address is outside of the UK, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You must meet any additional charges for customs clearance. Charlie Boots cannot be held responsible for these charges .If you wish to find out more information please contact your local Customs and Excise office.
Returns and refunds
  1. If you are returning goods that are not what you ordered then a replacement product will be sent out free of charge on receipt of the unwanted item. Charlie Boots is happy to offer an exchange to the value of the item being returned. You must meet any excess in cost.
  2. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact us and quote your order reference number. You can then return the goods to us within 14 days of receipt and we will issue you a full refund or exchange (excluding original delivery charges) upon receipt, subject to the terms and conditions detailed below. If an item is unsuitable, delivery charges for return of item will not be reimbursed. If item is faulty, then delivery charges will be reimbursed along with a refund or exchange. Please include the original receipt and the returns form with your goods.
  3. The parcel can take up to 7 working days to reach us, therefore we recommend that you send items back as soon as possible to ensure the goods arrive to us within 14 days or receipt, so we can process your refund.
  4. Under the United Kingdom's distance selling regulations you have the right to cancel your order or any item purchased online from Charlie Boots, for a full refund. If you have not yet received your order, please contact Charlie@charlieboots.com as soon as possible to arrange a cancellation before the order is dispatched. This way you will also have your postage fees returned. All order cancellations must be made in writing, quoting your order reference number, within 7 working days from the day after the order was dispatched, if not sooner. If your order has already been processed and dispatched to you, it will be necessary for you to return the goods following our return procedures detailed in this section so we can process your refund. If it has already been dispatched then your postage will not be returned.
  5. All goods are your responsibly once in your possession which includes their transit while being returned to us, so please handle all goods with extreme care and ensure that you send the package by recorded delivery as well as retaining your proof of postage. If the goods do not reach us within 14 days of receipt, we reserve the right not to process your return.
  6. In order to process a refund, the goods must be returned to us intact and undamaged. When trying the item on please ensure you are not wearing perfume or a deodorant which may leave a scent or marks on the item. We will be unable to accept the return of any item where there is evidence that these instructions have not been followed.
  7. Please note that we are only able to accept returns for underwear if the items are either in their original unopened, sealed packaging, or if the items are faulty.
Accuracy
  1. Every effort is taken to ensure that the information contained in this website is correct and up-to-date. However, Charlie Boots disclaim all warranties and representations as to the accuracy of any information contained if at any time it becomes inadvertently out-of-date or incomplete. Charlie Boots cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from the use of this information.
  2. While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or canceling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
  3. We endeavour to display as accurately as we reasonably can the true colours of Charlie Boots products.  However, we cannot guarantee that the colour of a Charlie Boots product as delivered will replicate how it appeared to you on-screen; in part, this is dependent upon your computer's display monitor, and how you perceive colour.
  4. Charlie Boots is not responsible for this site's accuracy or the reliability of the access to this site. Neither will we assume responsibility for the content of any other website to which this site links to. These links are provided for your convenience only.
  5. The sizes, weights, dimensions and capacities given are approximate only. Packaging may vary from that shown.
Garment Care:
  1. A large proportion of Charlie Boots garments are made from vintage, re-cycled or re-claimed fabrics for which the fiber content is not always known. If it is known it will be stated. It is because of this that for many garments I have no legal obligation to list the fiber content. If it is not known it will be referred to as a fabric 'type' which means I will state what I believe it to be. This cannot not always be accurate.
  2. Fabrics and garments are tested to see temperatures they can wash at. Most are not tested to see if they can be dry cleaned so it is advisable to ask the opinion of your dry cleaner before going ahead with this method.
Privacy

When you join the newsletter while ordering online you are being given the option to receive information from Charlie Boots by post, e-mail or telephone, about products, promotions or special offers which we feel may be of interest to you. In the event that you do not wish to be contacted for such purposes you may unsubscribe from our contact list at any time by replying to a promotional e-mail with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line or by e-mailing us at Charlie@charlieboots.com.

We use Cookies to keep track of your current shopping session to personalise your experience and so that you may retrieve your shopping basket at any time - if you do not accept Cookies you will be unable to use this Website.

Security Information:

When you shop at our website we use a 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encrypted secure internet connection to protect your payment details. Your computer should automatically allow the opening of the secure connection when you place your order. This means that all the details you supply and any responses are encrypted before they are sent over the internet.

You can tell whether a page is secure, as 'https' will replace the 'http' at the front of the www.Charlieboots.com in your browser address window. A small locked padlock will also appear in the bottom bar of your browser window.

We use Secure Hosting to take your payment. All systems used by secure hosting and its payment gateway UPG for the processing and storage of card information are audited and validated by Qualified Security Assessors to the highest possible standard under the PCI DSS scheme.

Once your payment has been taken Charlie Boots do not hold onto your credit/debit card details.

Please note that we will never ask for a customer to confirm any account or credit card details via email - If you receive an email claiming to be from Charlie Boots asking you to submit account or credit card details please do not respond.

Intellectual property:


You acknowledge that all copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights in and relating to the Charlie Boots site and products are owned by, or exclusively licensed to, us. Therefore, no one may copy, distribute, show in public or create any derivative work from the Charlie Boots site, or product or any of the material which is found on the Charlie Boots site unless properly licensed to do so by us.

These conditions are governed and construed by English law. English courts will resolve any disputes. The terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a customer.
